In 2012 we embarked on a three-year project with Children in Need to engage with young people across South Wales who had experienced disadvantage in their lives which was preventing them reaching their full potential. We designed a project which aimed to increase the confidence, raise future aspirations and support the development of the basic skills of the young people, ensuring they had positive role models and influences in their lives. The project included both peer to peer mentoring and training for the young people within community music practice and year-long accredited music workshops which included DJing, Song writing, rap, VJing, Rock/pop. The project delivered sessions in studio engineering and recording, providing the opportunity to learn how to operate the studio and support the young people in setting positive goals. The project was so successful we were awarded a further grant of an additional three years from Children in Need which saw 2017 as its final year.

Over the six years of the project, we engaged with over 800 young people and had an average of 92% of positive outcomes which include the achievement of accredited learning, a break in negative behavioural patterns and increase in confidence. There has also been excellent music produced over the years in a variety of music genres.

Yn 2012 cychwynnwyd ar brosiect tair blynedd gyda Plant Mewn Angen i ymgysylltu â phobl ifanc ar draws De Cymru yr oedd rhyw anfantais yn eu bywydau wedi eu hatal rhag cyrraedd eu llawn botensial. Gwnaethom gynllunio prosiect a’r nod oedd cynyddu hyder, dyheadau'r bobl ifanc ar gyfer y dyfodol a datblygu eu sgiliau sylfaenol, gan sicrhau fod ganddynt fodelau rôl a dylanwadau positif yn eu bywydau. Roedd y prosiect yn cynnwys mentora a hyfforddiant rhwng cymheiriaid i'r bobl ifanc o fewn ymarfer cerddoriaeth gymunedol a gweithdai cerddoriaeth achrededig oedd yn para blwyddyn – ac yn cynnwys troelli disgiau, ysgrifennu caneuon, rap, ‘Vj-io’ a roc/pop. Roedd y prosiect yn cynnal sesiynau ar beirianneg a recordio stiwdio, gan gynnig cyfle i ddysgu sut i weithio mewn stiwdio a chefnogi'r bobl ifanc i bennu targedau positif.  Roedd y prosiect mor llwyddiannus fel bo Plant Mewn Angen wedi dyfarnu gwerth 3 blynedd arall o arian prosiect i ni a oedd yn golygu mai 2017 oedd ei flwyddyn olaf.

Yn ystod chwe blynedd y prosiect, gwnaethom ymgysylltu â mwy na 800 o bobl ifanc ac ar gyfartaledd cawsom 92% o ganlyniadau cadarnhaol a oedd yn cynnwys cyflawni dysgu achrededig, unigolion yn rhoi’r gorau i batrymau ymddygiad negyddol a chynnydd mewn hyder. Cynhyrchwyd cerddoriaeth ardderchog hefyd dros y blynyddoedd a hynny mewn amrywiaeth o genres cerddorol.
